Artist Statement

I think of myself as a 'constructivist' - someone who puts things together. Although the mediums I've used over the years have changed, many of the themes are similar, such as: 

• Density: a rich integrated whole formed from distinct building blocks
• A sense of optimism and playfulness
• Being prolific and the joy, passion and obsession found in productivity
• Imperfection: sometimes deliberate, sometimes not
• Relationships and the connections that bring us together and pull us apart
• Abstraction: answers through analysis and reflection and still more questions and images; never a complete story
• Provocation: hopefully in good ways
